Blogging A to Z Challenge

I announced yesterday that it’s so time to start writing again and what better way to kick off writing than, well, by writing! This morning I was reading my friend Chris’ blog (yea, he’s back!) and he mentioned this Blogging A-Z Challenge thingie. Apparently it gets pretty big because there’s just shy of 1500 people signed up to take part.

Nice.

The challenge runs from April 1-30 and lets the writer take Sundays off (they say for good behavior but we all know it’s really because the alphabet only has 26 letters and very few people know how to make this symbol ~ above an n to dive into the Spanish alphabet to farm for more letters).

If I’m reading the challenge guidelines correctly, the writer can choose a month long theme or just bust out a letter a day that follows along with the alphabet. With my penchant for all things random you’re all in for some serious insanity for the next month, I can assure you of that.

There might be some poetry tossed in the mix too because I’m still trying to get my head together to edit a lot of old prose so I can get this book pulled together. It will help to write some new stuff to get me back into the habit again. You may see personal stories, photographs, fiction, or any other number of writing devices. I’m in full on need of jump starting my spark and April is really the perfect month to do it!

Why, you may ask? Because March is almost over and May is pretty far away. Duh.

One of the things I might try to do is log all the day’s letters on my whiteboard calendar and some days I might write ahead then schedule to publish on the correct day. This is mainly due to the fact that in April we have some kind of plans on just about every weekend and the weekdays are filling up too. Filing up really fast in fact.

But it’s high time to let go of the excuses mentioned yesterday. Period. I’m writing and nothing is going to stop me this time.

So spring is here and I feel like I’ve collected at least enough to get back into writing blog posts for the next 30 days. Check out the link if you want to join in and let me know if you do so I can hop on over to read your blog all month.

This is an awesome idea Jenn... I may do this down the line. I have a personal six week task that I am doing now :)

It us great to see you back motivated.

Stopping by from the A-Z list. It's kind of crazy, but it's a lot of fun. See ya around the Challenge.

Sounds intriguing. I may try to play along unofficially (already doing 365 and Wall Wednesday) at least for a few days.

Can't wait to read your posts!

Love, Mum

Good luck, Jenn! I checked this out and was tempted to join in (I even got 2/3 of the way through my 'A' post) before I remembered I'm drowning in hard deadlines this month. I look forward to reading your posts, though, and I may try to work this in next year.

Woo-hoo! I'm so glad you're taking the A-Z challenge since I've been completely shut down by the flu. So no A-Z for me (I'm sure my legions of fans will be disappointed) but I'll be checking in to see your random faves and I'll do my best to leave some timely and thoughtful comments :-)

Evening Jenn,

Also stopping by from the A to Z Challenge list and plan to follow along during the challenge... keep you on your toes and make sure you are getting back into writing! No dilly-dallying!

Would like to see some poetry posted, as you mentioned.

Also, I would like to offer you an award that you can find over at my blog: The Cryton Chronicles : An Awards Ceremony I hope you will accept it and share it with others.

Good luck to you with the challenge, Jenn!

PS. I think your friend Chris needs to suck it up and get to writing! They don't have to be long posts. ;-) Muahahahaha!

Welcome to the Challenge. You'll have a blast and what better way to get back to writing?

Making my rounds since it's Ap 1st, looks like some folks signed up for the challenge but then aren't doing it. I'm not doing well yet with finding folks with their post up.

sorry for the cut and paste url, but you don't have a place for name and url. The generic google doesn't work well for folks with multiple blogs.

Thanks for swinging by Tim! Thanks for the encouragement, I'm looking forward to the challenge :-)

I know right? You've got a lot of daily things going already! Thanks though, can't wait to write them!

Thanks Rebecca, same to you!

Yeah I was hesitant to agree only because I have so many other things going on as well but none of them involved writing and that was a big no-no for me. So we'll see, hopefully I can keep it going all month!

Oh no! Well boo on the flu! That definitely sucks for many reasons not just because you'll have to abandon the challenge. This fan will be disappointed I can tell ya that!

Thanks for stoping by Jak! I'm definitely going to have to work hard now that I know I've got an accountabilabuddy looking out for my posts. Thanks for that because the push will help keep me going :-)

Thanks for the award too, how cool of you! I'll stop on over and check it out.
